The Federal Skilled Trade program is one of the three programs of Express Entry. It can be a fast and foremost option for foreign trade workers with skilled trade work experience. 1. Federal Skilled Trade Program Work Experience

 
1. At least 2-years of full-time work experience within the last 5 years or a full-time position offered by a Canadian employer for a minimum of one year or have a certificate of qualification from a provincial, territorial, or federal governing body.
 
2. All the job responsibilities you claim for skilled trade should match with NOC-specified (National Occupational Classification) job responsibilities. The processing time of FST is six months.

2. Federal Skilled Trade Program Language proficiency report

 
Canada has two official languages- English(first language) and French(second language). Canada sets a CLB level(Canadian Language Benchmark) as eligibility for language skills. Measurement of language proficiency in French or English will be based on the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) or the Canadian Linguistic Competence Level (NCLC).
 

3. Federal Skilled Trade Program funds to Support

 
 
In order to settle in Canada, you must have enough money for you and your family unless you are offered a job in Canada or are eligible to work in Canada legally.
 
4. Federal Skilled Trade Program Identification Documents
 
The candidate will be required to provide Identification Documents.
 

5. Federal Skilled Trade Program ECA Report

 

1. For education points, you must have an assessment report of your educational credentials.
2. If you have your education pursued from a Canadian University then ECA report will not be required.
3. If your profile meets all the eligibility requirements, you can move to steps to apply to the FST program.

Steps to apply under the Federal Skilled Trade Program

 
1. Once you meet all the eligibility requirements, you can submit an Express Entry application to IRCC.
2. After applying for the Express Entry, you will get a CRS score.
3. If your CRS Score is above the cutoff, you will receive the ITA.
4. Once you receive the ITA, you need to submit all the required documents within 60 days.
5. After submitting all the documents and if your application is found to be completed and gets approved you will receive COPR(confirmation of Permanent Residence).
