What is different in the Express Entry draw of July 20, 2022

1. July 20, 2022 Express Entry draw was the second most-awaited draw of EE since 2020.
2. The second cutoff was released exactly two weeks after the first cutoff.
3. Comprehensive Ranking System, CRS score has dropped by 15 points.
4. Invited candidates have increased by 250.
5. It was not a program-specific draw of Express Entry. That means having a CRS score above or equal to 542 in any of the three programs of Express Entry made applicants eligible to receive an invitation to apply.

What can you expect from the next Express Entry draw? Will Express Entry points drop in 2022?

Keeping the last two Express Entry draws in the record, the first draw had a CRS cutoff of 557, and 542 is the cutoff for the second draw. The difference of 15 scores indicates that the next draw can have a lesser CRS score.

1. If we talk about the backlog of immigration applications, then it has been reduced to a great extent. That is one of the reasons Canada resumed Express Entry draws for all programs.

2. Till Sep last year, Canada was inviting applications from the CEC program of Express Entry. So applicants waiting in the pool to apply through Express Entry programs have the happy news that Canada has no plans to stop all-program Express Entry draws.

3. The possibility of dropping the Express Entry cutoff is high because of Canada’s immigration target from 2022 to 2024. Canada’s fastly declining youth population is a big concern that Canada wants potential foreign workers.

4. To gain potential foreign workers, Canada has to send more invitations to international applicants. For sending more invitations Canada will require candidates who have scored higher or equal to the cutoff.

So in this scenario, the possibility is high to expect future Express Entry CRS cutoffs to be lower with higher invitations for Permanent Residents.

Hence, whatever will be the next CRS cutoff, you should prepare yourself for the higher and higher score.
