All Express Entry programs will resume from July 6.

The last Express Entry draw was held in Dec 2020. That year Canada invited the highest applicants (107,350) through Express Entry.

FST and FSW draw has been paused since then. For CEC, Canada held the last draw in Sep 2021. Pandemic created the situation where Canada had put Express Entry draws on hold to maintain safety measures and clear backlogs of applications.

So now, by cutting off more than half of the backlogs, IRCC is resuming the Express Entry draws for all the programs. Your wait is going to end this July to fly to Canada.

In an interview in Toronto with CIC, Canadian immigration minister Sean Fraser announced resuming the Express Entry draw from July 6.

Sean Fraser also mentioned the new changes that could make a growthful impact on the economy of Canada and are equally beneficial for immigrants.

1. PGWP holders can renew their work permit for further 18 months if expiring between January 2022 to December 2022.
2. Application processing time for Express Entry will be faster than before. The Application will process within 6 months.
3. If a person has applied for PR, they can apply for an Open Work Permit until approval on the PR application. The Work Permit will be valid up to 2024.

Canada will focus mainly on those applications or invite applicants with demanding skills to increase economic development. The decision will be made by keeping the future economic growth in mind for the coming 20-30 years. You can check your chances of receiving an Invitation from Canada with an online assessment.

In 2022, will the FSW CRS cut-off increase?

It’s been two years, and people are waiting for the Express Entry draw to resume again. IRCC is expecting a high cutoff (above 500) for the July Express Entry draw that may remain high for the next 6 months as per the possibilities.

Canada’s labour market has different demanding jobs. By prioritizing the most in-demand occupations, Canada can gain a skilled workforce for the country.

On this, Sean Fraser shared that they are planning to implement a law C-19. With this law, Canada’s immigration minister will have the authority to invite candidates on various factors like education, experience, language, etc.

So it will be easier to fill positions with specific job requirements in the country.

Though C-19 is yet to be stamped as law in Canada if it gets passed, it will help cover high-priority jobs in Canada with potential economic growth.
